EXCLUSIVE: Keith McNally Is Cooking Up a Stage Play

Keith McNally’s Next Act? A Stage Play, Naturally
1 Min Read 0 113

Keith McNally has spent decades turning New York restaurants into cultural landmarks, but his next act may be happening somewhere outside of the restaurant.

The famously outspoken restaurateur, behind iconic spots including Balthazar, Pastis and Minetta Tavern, is now turning his attention to the theater.

McNally is writing a stage play, proving that his appetite for drama extends well beyond the dining room.

Known for his sharp observations, colorful characters and even sharper opinions, he certainly has plenty of material to work with. If his restaurants are any indication, expect the play to serve up plenty of wit, attitude and unforgettable characters.

McNally also gave some saying that his ‘book was bought by HBO and they’re making a limited series next year. Frank Rich, Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are the producers. I’m involved quite a bit.’
