Halloween is coming to Murray Hill, and Leonetta NYC is apparently not interested in celebrating quietly.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, Leonetta is turning its downstairs Leo’s Famous Bar & Lounge into a Halloween after-dark party, complete with a live DJ, spooky cocktails, light bites and a costume contest with a seriously tempting prize.

The party kicks off at 8 p.m. at 181 Lexington Avenue, giving New Yorkers plenty of time to transform from respectable dinner guests into whatever questionable character they have been planning to unleash all year.

And this isn’t exactly your neighborhood pumpkin-carving party.

Leo’s Famous describes the evening as an “elevated Halloween experience,” with music running all night, signature Halloween cocktails and chilling horror-movie scenes playing throughout the downstairs space. Costumes are encouraged, confidence is apparently mandatory.

Then there is the costume contest.

The winner takes home a dinner for two valued at $200, which means there is finally a practical reason to spend an unreasonable amount of time deciding whether your costume is sufficiently fabulous.

For anyone who hasn’t discovered Leo’s Famous yet, the downstairs lounge operates Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. until late, offering Mediterranean-inspired cocktails, wine, craft spirits and small plates in a more intimate setting than the main Leonetta dining room.

That makes it a particularly fitting home for a Halloween party. Darker, moodier and tucked beneath Leonetta, the lounge already has the atmosphere. Halloween just gives everyone permission to dress accordingly.

So whether you’re going for the cocktails, the DJ, the costume competition or simply an excuse to spend Halloween somewhere considerably more glamorous than your living room, Leonetta’s Halloween party is making a strong case for a trip to Lexington Avenue.

Just remember: on October 31, the scariest thing shouldn’t be your costume. It should be going home before 1 a.m.
