New York movie lovers, here’s your cue to put down the streaming remote. John Turturro is heading to the Angelika Film Center on Saturday, October 24, for a special filmmaker Q&A following a screening of The Only Living Pickpocket in New York. If you enjoy your cinema with a side of conversation from one of Hollywood’s most distinctive talents, this is one downtown date worth considering.
The event follows the film’s 7:10 p.m. screening, giving audiences the chance to hear from Turturro in person after watching the movie. Tickets are on sale now, according to the Angelika’s announcement.
John Turturro Brings a Special Q&A to the Angelika
Turturro has built a remarkable career moving between independent cinema, major studio films, television, and theater. Known for his collaborations with the Coen brothers, including Barton Fink and The Big Lebowski, he has a knack for making even the most eccentric characters unforgettable.
He’s also appeared in projects ranging from O Brother, Where Art Thou? to the Transformers franchise and HBO’s The Night Of. In other words, he’s the kind of actor who can make a film discussion just as interesting as the movie itself.
The Angelika Film Center, a longtime favorite among New York’s independent-film crowd, provides a fitting setting for the event. Located in Manhattan’s NoHo area, the theater has become a destination for audiences seeking filmmaker appearances, independent releases, and movies that give you something to discuss over drinks afterward.
