DeuxMoi Made Me Do It…a restaurant guide for millennials
The Wayland
Cocktail bar near Tompkins Square Park
In May of 2016 GrubStreet called The Wayland the best bar in the East Village…and as of November 2022 the customers still agree. GrubStreet and reviewers alike comment that the atmosphere, food, drinks, and prices are what keeps people coming back for more.
The Wayland is open seven days a week with the Happy Hour menu being served 4p-7p on weekdays. Saturday hours: 2p-4am (no happy hour) Sunday hours: 2p-2a (no happy hour) Monday-Wednesday hours: 4pm-2a, Thursday hours: 4p-3am, Friday hours: 4p-4a
The Wayland has a 4.6 star rating on Google with over 700 reviews. It is considered $$ (moderately expensive) with cocktails averaging $15, beers between $6-$9 and $9 glasses of wine. The kitchen menu is reasonably priced with offerings such as a chef’s plate, raw or fried oysters, seasonal salads, sandwiches and other small bites. The Wayland has a more extensive beer menu than other cocktail bars we’ve reviewed. We think that The Wayland is a great place for a post-work meet up with friends or colleagues or for appetizers and drinks before a later dinner reservation.
You cannot beat the Happy Hour menu at The Wayland!
