New York’s newest dining destination is giving wine lovers a very good reason to raise a glass. Amphora, the elegant new restaurant in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, is pairing sophisticated seasonal cuisine with an extraordinary wine collection that could make even the most dedicated oenophile weak in the knees.

Opening September 9, 2026, at 43 East 20th Street, Amphora takes over the storied space previously occupied by Veritas and Saint Urban. Its mission? To bring food and wine together in a dining experience where neither plays second fiddle. With more than 2,500 bottles in its cellar, this newcomer is already making a serious impression on New York’s fine-dining scene.

A Menu Made for Memorable Meals

At the helm is executive chef Jack Logue, whose impressive résumé includes acclaimed restaurants Betony and The Clocktower. Working alongside wine director Chris Miller, Logue has created a seasonal menu designed to complement the restaurant’s deep wine collection.

Among the tempting offerings are diver scallops with succotash, bell peppers and nasturtium; sweet corn agnolotti with black truffle and Parmesan; and Atlantic black bass accompanied by summer squash and dill. For diners craving something more substantial, Rohan duck breast arrives with chanterelles, cherry and sansho, while citrus Wagyu ribeye offers a luxurious alternative.

Dessert deserves attention, too. Milk chocolate with burnt honey, hazelnut and passionfruit provides a sweet finale, while seasonal peaches and cream bring a lighter finish.

Your Next Flatiron Date-Night Destination?

Amphora offers three-course and four-course menus, a tasting menu with optional wine pairings, and à la carte selections at the bar. The thoughtfully designed dining room keeps the atmosphere refined without feeling overly formal, making it suitable for celebrations, romantic evenings and dinners with friends.

The restaurant takes its name from the ancient vessel used to transport wine across civilizations—a fitting tribute to a collection spanning celebrated wine regions around the world.

For New Yorkers who believe a great bottle deserves an equally memorable meal, Amphora is one Flatiron opening worth putting on the reservation list. After all, sometimes the best way to explore the world is one delicious glass at a time.
