Funk Flex is not letting an alleged courtside scuffle steal his spotlight — and he’s making sure the internet gets the message loud and clear.
The legendary Hot 97 DJ took to Instagram after TMZ reached out about reports that he had been punched in the face during a fight at Madison Square Garden’s Delta Club during a New York Knicks game. His response? A whole lot of laughter, a healthy dose of sarcasm and absolutely no interest in playing along with the rumor.
“HAHAHAHAHA! PLEASE! YOU WISH I GOT PUNCHED IN THE FACE!” Funk Flex wrote, turning the speculation into a punchline before the story could land its own hit.
Funk Flex Calls Out the Knicks Game Rumors
In his Instagram post, Flex suggested that people connected to the music business were upset because things weren’t going their way. He also referenced Shadow, joking that he wanted someone to throw a punch so he could sue.
The DJ promised that a video was coming soon, leaving followers waiting for more details — and potentially another round of commentary from one of hip-hop radio’s most recognizable personalities.
The screenshot shared by Flex shows a message from TMZ news desk producer Alexa Klohn asking for background on the alleged incident. The email says the outlet had been told Flex was at the Delta Club during the Knicks game when someone punched him, sparking a fight.
But Flex’s public response directly challenges that account. As of the post shown, no independent confirmation of the alleged altercation is provided.
Another Day, Another Viral Hip-Hop Moment
Funk Flex has built a career on big personalities, blunt opinions and breaking music news. Now, he’s turned a reported backstage-style drama at MSG into a social media moment of its own.
Whether a video clears up the confusion remains to be seen. For now, Flex’s message is unmistakable: he’s laughing off the claim and pushing back against the story.
The takeaway? In New York, even a Knicks game can generate a headline worthy of its own postgame show. But before anyone calls this a knockout, the facts still need to come out.
