Donald Trump’s childhood home has officially found a new owner—and, in classic New York real estate fashion, the house has had quite the glow-up along the way.
The Tudor-style home at 85-15 Wareham Place in Jamaica Estates, Queens, where Trump lived until he was about four years old, has sold for $1.93 million. The property was built in 1940 by Trump’s father, real estate developer Fred Trump.
But this was hardly a simple celebrity-home sale. When developer Tommy Lin purchased the five-bedroom house in 2025 for $835,000, the approximately 3,100-square-foot property had reportedly been sitting vacant and deteriorating. A burst pipe caused water damage and mold, while feral cats had apparently decided they had found their forever home.
Lin spent roughly $500,000 and eight months renovating the property, transforming the former fixer-upper into a considerably more luxurious residence. The renovation added a chef’s kitchen, herringbone flooring and spa-style bathrooms while preserving the home’s Tudor exterior. Because apparently even presidential history needs a renovation budget.
The Trump childhood home in Queens has had an unusually eventful real estate history. It sold for $2.14 million in 2017, shortly after Trump became president, and was later offered as an Airbnb featuring Trump memorabilia—including cardboard cutouts and copies of The Art of the Deal.
Now, after years of changing hands, dramatic renovations and plenty of headlines, the property has landed a buyer for $1.93 million.
Not bad for a house that once had mold, water damage and a feral-cat problem. In New York, apparently, location, history and a little presidential name recognition can still turn a fixer-upper into a million-dollar story.
