New York City is getting another case of Dun Dun—and this one comes with coffee, diner food and plenty of Law & Order nostalgia.

The Law & Order Dun Dun Diner is returning to Rockefeller Center, bringing the long-running NBC franchise back to the city where its fictional detectives have spent decades chasing suspects, interrogating witnesses and dramatically announcing that someone is “under arrest.” The pop-up is set for October 3–5, with the experience once again transforming Rockefeller Center into a very different kind of crime scene.

The name, naturally, comes from television’s most recognizable sound effect: DUN DUN. The NYC pop-up is designed to put fans inside the Law & Order universe, recreating the sort of classic New York diner where detectives might grab a quick meal between cases.

And this isn’t just a place to eat.

The Dun Dun Diner NYC experience will feature themed food, Law & Order-inspired merchandise and interactive elements designed for fans of the franchise. The previous edition included show memorabilia, photo opportunities and collaborations with Milk Bar and Dinner Service NY.

The original Dun Dun Diner became a genuine fan destination, with more than 2,300 people experiencing the activation and millions of media impressions generated around the event.

For New Yorkers, it’s also another excuse to visit Rockefeller Center and pretend that the person sitting at the next diner table is either a detective, a prosecutor or someone who definitely has something to hide.

The Law & Order Dun Dun Diner is expected to be a must-see for fans of the franchise, especially anyone who has ever heard that unmistakable sound and immediately known that somebody’s evening was about to get considerably worse.

Because in New York, even lunch comes with a plot twist.

Dun Dun.
