Howard Stern, John Mayer and Andy Cohen were all in the same room at a recent Hamptons concert, which sounds less like a normal night out and more like someone accidentally assembled a celebrity group chat in real life.
Mayer performed an intimate SiriusXM concert at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on August 26, drawing a seriously starry crowd that included Stern and his wife Beth, Andy Cohen and his boyfriend Kevin Sobieski, Brooke Shields, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and Christie Brinkley.
And naturally, Howard Stern had something to say about Andy Cohen’s love life.
Stern has known Cohen for years, and the two have spent plenty of time discussing the Bravo star’s friendships and relationships on The Howard Stern Show. Cohen’s longtime friendship with Mayer has been a recurring topic, with Cohen famously telling Stern in 2023 that he and Mayer were “in love with each other”—while making clear that the relationship was a close friendship, not a sexual one.
This time, however, the conversation has a new character: Kevin Sobieski, Cohen’s boyfriend.
Cohen publicly revealed earlier this year that he had met someone special, and Sobieski has since accompanied him to high-profile events. At Mayer’s intimate Hamptons concert, the couple joined a crowd that looked like the guest list for the most exclusive New York dinner party imaginable.
Mayer’s show itself was hardly an ordinary gig. The singer performed fan favorites including “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “Gravity” and “New Light,” and also paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”
So yes, John Mayer was onstage.
But with Howard Stern, Andy Cohen and his new boyfriend in the audience, the real entertainment may have been happening between songs.
Because in the Hamptons, even going to a concert comes with a celebrity subplot.
