New Jersey, meet your next dinner obsession. Wagyu Factory has arrived in Edison, bringing an all-you-can-eat Japanese-style barbecue experience to Route 27 where diners grill premium beef at their own tables and have an entire buffet waiting in the wings. Because sometimes choosing just one thing for dinner is simply asking too much.
The restaurant opened October 23 at 1763 Route 27 in Edison, marking Wagyu Factory’s first New Jersey location and its seventh restaurant nationwide. The concept comes from Chubby Group, the hospitality company behind dining brands including Chubby Cattle, The X Pot and Niku X.
Japanese, Australian and American Wagyu — Oh My!
The star attraction is the rotating selection of Japanese, Australian and American Wagyu, prized for its rich marbling and buttery texture. Guests cook their selections right at the table, making dinner a hands-on affair rather than another night of waiting for someone else to bring the food.
The grill lineup goes beyond Wagyu, with options including beef tongue, pork belly, chicken wings and marinated meats. The idea is simple: keep the grill sizzling, try different cuts and discover your personal favorite before the evening is over.
The Buffet Is No Sidekick
Wagyu Factory isn’t just about beef. Its buffet brings an impressive supporting cast, including sushi, nigiri, seafood, steamed dumplings and hot dishes. Craving something more substantial? Wagyu fried rice and stir-fried udon add extra comfort-food appeal, while shrimp tempura, takoyaki, xiaolongbao and lobster dumplings bring even more variety.
There’s also a sauce station where diners can customize their bites with barbecue sauce, garlic, chili, kimchi and fresh accompaniments. Dessert options include egg tarts and ice cream, because nobody said the all-you-can-eat adventure had to end with the last piece of beef.
