New York’s café scene is getting a little more interesting. Cafe Kera, a new Georgian-inspired all-day café and wine bar, is preparing to open at 95 Second Avenue in the East Village, promising everything from morning espresso and savory pastries to late-night wine and small plates.

The concept is built around a simple idea: good mornings, long lunches and even better evenings. And in a neighborhood that rarely runs out of reasons to stay out, Cafe Kera could fit right in.

Georgian Comfort Food Meets NYC Café Culture

Cafe Kera is putting Georgian cuisine in the spotlight, with a menu that stretches well beyond the usual avocado toast and cappuccino combination.

Expect breakfast and lunch options including sandwiches, soups, salads, charcuterie boards and savory pastries filled with beans, potatoes and greens.

Dinner brings a more indulgent lineup. Highlights include panko-crusted macaroni croquettes stuffed with mozzarella and served with spicy vodka sauce, whipped burrata with basil dip, and sweet soy-glazed salmon served with cucumber, avocado, peppers, carrots and edamame.

There are also layered potatoes topped with truffle Parmesan, garlic butter and garlic sauce. Because apparently potatoes really can have a glamorous night out.

Coffee by Day, Wine by Night

Cafe Kera isn’t positioning itself as just another morning coffee stop. The all-day concept will transition from espresso, coffee and tea into an evening destination featuring wine, beer and small plates.

The space is expected to accommodate approximately 38 indoor guests, with additional seating at an L-shaped bar and outdoor sidewalk café seating.

Planned hours are equally ambitious: opening at 7:30 a.m., with service extending until midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Where Is Cafe Kera Opening?

Cafe Kera is coming to 95 Second Avenue, between East 5th and East 6th Streets, in Manhattan’s East Village.

An official opening date has not yet been announced, with the team reportedly still testing dishes and preparing the space.

For East Village residents, Cafe Kera could become the kind of neighborhood spot that works just as well for an early cappuccino as a late-night glass of wine. And honestly, that’s a pretty appealing combination.
