New York City has officially entered the era of fragrance cafés, because apparently ordering a latte wasn’t enough anymore. Café DedCool is popping up in Nolita, giving New Yorkers a chance to drink coffee, shop the cult fragrance brand and smell very expensive while doing both.
The temporary Café DedCool is located at 262 Mott Street, between Houston and Prince Streets, and is open September 18–20 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The three-day experience celebrates Mocha Magic, DedCool’s new coffee-inspired fragrance.
And this isn’t your average branded pop-up with a logo slapped on a wall.
DedCool has created an actual café-style experience where visitors can grab coffee and snacks, sample the new fragrance and shop DedCool’s products. The company says the Mott Street activation is its first café-and-retail pop-up open to the public, complete with exclusive merchandise and gifts.
There’s also a reason to set the alarm.
The first 50 people in line each day receive a special gift, meaning the early-bird crowd may want to swap their usual Saturday sleep-in for a little Nolita hustle. The event is open to walk-ins, although DedCool has also promoted an RSVP through Partiful.
Mocha Magic is the star of the show. The fragrance is inspired by the comforting world of coffee, continuing DedCool’s playful approach to scents that blur the line between fragrance and everyday rituals.
The NYC campaign also includes a partnership with The Elk, where a limited-edition Mocha Magic latte has been available alongside fragrance sampling.
