Floradora Is the New West Village Spot for Martinis, Disco Fries and Late Nights

Blame the disco.

The West Village has a new place to start your night—and potentially ruin your plans to go home early.

Floradora, a new two-story restaurant and bar at 205 Thompson Street, opened August 27 from the team behind Libertine, Chateau Royale and Capitaine. The concept mixes old-school New York restaurant energy with playful cocktails, Italian-American comfort food and enough vintage décor to make your phone’s camera roll look like a 1970s movie set.

The menu comes from Executive Chef Vanessa Velez, whose lineup leans nostalgic but isn’t afraid to take a detour. Expect dishes like oxtail lasagna, spicy vodka garganelli with Korean gochujang, veal Milanese, an American Wagyu cheeseburger and disco fries loaded with caciocavallo, Taleggio and au poivre sauce.

In other words, Floradora is not exactly encouraging you to count calories.

Then there are the cocktails. Beverage director Cody Pruitt has created a menu inspired by disco-era and 1980s drinks, including the Giardiniera Gibson, Lychee Vesper, June Bug and signature Floradora, made with gin, raspberry, ginger, cardamom and soda water. Classic dry-gin and dirty-vodka martinis are available in both mini and full pours.

The room itself might be half the fun. The two-floor space features warm wood paneling, Tiffany-style lighting, red velvet banquettes and more than 50 portraits of artists, musicians and writers, along with vintage movie posters and art exhibition prints.

And Floradora isn’t calling it a night at 10 p.m. The restaurant offers late-night service, with food available until 2 a.m. on weekends, while reservations are available through Resy.

So whether you’re looking for a new West Village restaurant, late-night NYC food, martinis or a very grown-up plate of disco fries, Floradora has you covered.

Come for dinner.

Stay for the martini.

Blame the disco.
