Getting a reservation at Torrisi NYC is basically a New York City sport—except the prize is a table at one of the city’s most coveted Italian-American restaurants.

Located inside the historic Puck Building at 275 Mulberry Street, Torrisi has become famous for its ambitious take on New York Italian-American cooking and its notoriously competitive reservations.

So, how do you actually get in?

Book Torrisi 30 Days Ahead

The official restaurant website says Torrisi releases dining-room reservations 30 days in advance through Resy, for parties of up to six. The restaurant also directs diners to Dorsia, its partnered members-only reservation platform.

Translation: set an alarm.

Have your Resy account ready, your party size selected and your preferred dates in mind before the reservation window opens. Popular dinner times can disappear extremely quickly.

Keep Checking Resy

Missed the drop? Don’t surrender.

Cancellations happen, and Resy’s Notify feature can alert you when a table becomes available. Being flexible with your dining time—and willing to eat on a weeknight—can make the hunt considerably less painful.

Try the Bar

Here’s the secret weapon: walk in.

Torrisi’s restaurant says it holds seats at its Bar Counter on a first-come, first-served basis. The Michelin Guide previously reported that the bar has 12 seats and serves most of the restaurant’s menu, making it one of the best alternatives when the dining room is booked.

The trick is patience. You may have to wait, but at least you’re waiting somewhere with cocktails.

And while Torrisi reservations are famously difficult, the strategy isn’t complicated: book 30 days out, turn on notifications, stay flexible and know the bar exists.

Because in NYC, sometimes the hardest part of dinner isn’t deciding what to eat.

It’s convincing Resy that you deserve a chair.
