Williamsburg has officially entered its luxury era.

Hermès is opening a permanent Brooklyn boutique in Williamsburg, bringing the French fashion house’s famous orange boxes, silk scarves, handbags and leather goods to one of Brooklyn’s busiest shopping neighborhoods. The new store is set to open September 19, 2026, at 130 Berry Street, according to Hermès’ official store listing.

The two-level boutique is located near North 6th Street and is designed around the idea of a traditional Hermès craft workshop. The roughly 9,400-square-foot space will carry the brand’s collection of handbags, apparel, scarves, jewelry, fragrances, shoes and home goods.

And this isn’t Hermès’ first Brooklyn experiment.

The brand previously operated a long-term pop-up nearby, testing the Williamsburg waters before committing to a permanent location. Now the temporary chapter is over and the luxury house is making Brooklyn official. Vogue notes that the Williamsburg pop-up helped demonstrate that the neighborhood could support a luxury retail presence.

The new Hermès Williamsburg location also marks a notable shift for the neighborhood. Williamsburg has long been associated with independent boutiques, vintage stores, restaurants and creative businesses. Now one of the world’s most recognizable luxury brands is planting a major flagship right in the middle of it.

And, naturally, the store isn’t exactly subtle. The location was developed specifically as a two-story retail space for Hermès, with a design intended to fit the brand’s craftsmanship-focused aesthetic.

For Brooklyn shoppers, it means there’s now one less reason to cross the East River when you’re in the market for an Hermès scarf—or perhaps something considerably more expensive.

So, when is Hermès opening in Brooklyn?

The answer is September 19.

Williamsburg already has excellent pizza, natural wine and vintage shopping.

Now it has a place where you can spend the price of a used car on a handbag.

Brooklyn, you’ve officially been Hermès-ed.
