New Yorkers can finally stop asking, “When is Tatte opening in NYC?” The answer is: it already did.
Tatte Bakery & Café has officially opened its first New York City location in Gramercy, bringing its wildly popular combination of pastries, coffee, shakshuka and Mediterranean-inspired all-day dining to 315C Park Avenue South at East 24th Street. The Boston-born bakery opened its Manhattan doors in July and is already attracting plenty of attention.
If you’ve somehow avoided Tatte until now, prepare for a serious pastry situation.
Founded by baker Tzurit Or in Boston in 2007, Tatte has grown into a major café brand known for its gorgeous baked goods and menu blending Israeli, Mediterranean and European influences.
The Tatte Gramercy menu features everything from pistachio croissants, chocolate babka and seasonal pastries to breakfast sandwiches, tartines, salads, bowls and the restaurant’s signature shakshuka. The coffee program also brings plenty of Instagram bait, including specialty lattes made with ingredients such as pistachio, black sesame, honey, halva and cardamom.
And despite the name, don’t pronounce it like you’re asking for a “tah-tay.” Tatte rhymes with latte, according to the company. You’re welcome.
The new Tatte Bakery NYC location is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., making it an all-day option for everything from morning coffee to weekend brunch. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays also feature a special brunch menu.
One important thing to know before you go: Tatte does not take reservations. Seating is first-come, first-served, so weekend brunch may require some patience—and possibly a pastry for emotional support.
And this isn’t the last Tatte coming to New York. The company lists another upcoming Manhattan location at 1597 Second Avenue on the Upper East Side, scheduled for 2026.
So, Gramercy, prepare yourself.
The pastry case has officially entered the chat.
