Chelsea Handler is bringing her signature no-filter humor to Jersey City, and if you’ve been waiting for a chance to see the comedian live, this is one date worth circling. The historic Loew’s Jersey Theatre is welcoming the comedian for a special appearance, putting one of comedy’s sharpest voices inside one of the region’s most spectacular restored movie palaces.
The venue is already generating buzz as it returns to the spotlight, and a Chelsea Handler event would be a particularly fitting way to celebrate its new chapter. There’s just one important detail: the publicly listed December 12 engagement is Handler’s High and Mighty Tour, not a confirmed Netflix special taping. Fans should verify the event details before making plans.
A Comedy Star Meets a Jersey City Icon
Handler has built a career on fearless observations, candid storytelling, and a willingness to say what everyone else is thinking. From Chelsea Lately to her Netflix projects and bestselling books, she has turned personal anecdotes and pop-culture commentary into a signature comedic style.
Loew’s Jersey Theatre, located at 54 Journal Square Plaza in Jersey City, offers an equally memorable setting. Originally opened in 1929, the landmark theater has undergone a historic restoration, bringing its grand architecture back to life as a destination for live entertainment.
How to Get Chelsea Handler Tickets
The safest place to check availability is Ticketmaster’s official Chelsea Handler listings, along with the Loew’s Jersey Theatre website.
The currently listed Jersey City engagement is Saturday, December 12, 2026, with performances at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Ticket sales are scheduled to begin October 21, with general sale opening October 23. Availability and pricing may change, so check the official listings for the latest information.
The bottom line: Chelsea Handler fans should keep an eye on Loew’s Jersey Theatre—but don’t confuse a live tour date with a Netflix taping unless the organizers explicitly confirm it. After all, the only thing better than a great comedy show is knowing you have the right tickets.
