The Upper East Side just got a new reason to grab dessert—and, naturally, it involves Jean-Georges, The Mark Hotel and frozen yogurt.
The Mark Froyo by Jean-Georges is the latest indulgent-but-somehow-still-feels-healthy addition to the iconic Upper East Side hotel. Priced at $8, the frozen treat combines creamy frozen Greek yogurt, tangy kefir and local New York State honey, creating the kind of dessert that sounds virtuous right up until you start adding toppings.
And yes, there are toppings.
Options include chocolate-cherry crumble, white chocolate-pistachio sauce and spiced candied walnuts. Basically, someone took froyo, sent it to finishing school and gave it a Jean-Georges makeover.
The Mark Froyo is being served daily from The Mark Haute Dog Cart, the hotel’s equally famous outdoor food stand. So you can now walk up to one of Manhattan’s most recognizable luxury hotels and choose between a hot dog and Jean-Georges-designed froyo. New York remains undefeated when it comes to unexpected food combinations.
The Mark Hotel, located at 25 East 77th Street at Madison Avenue, is already home to The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges, making this latest offering a natural extension of the chef’s culinary empire. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the hotel’s Haute Dog Cart operates daily, weather permitting.
For anyone searching for the best froyo in NYC, Upper East Side dessert spots or simply an excuse to wander around Madison Avenue with something cold in hand, this might be your sign.
Because sometimes luxury is a $8 cup of froyo.
And sometimes it comes with pistachio sauce.
