George Santos and Anna Delvey have apparently found something they can agree on: New York Fashion Week is a pretty good place to make an entrance.
The former congressman and the convicted fraudster-turned-fashion personality have been spending time in the same New York social circles, and their connection has once again landed them in the middle of the NYFW conversation.
During New York Fashion Week’s September 2026 shows, Santos was spotted in the front row at designer Elena Velez’s presentation, according to fashion coverage. Delvey was part of the same show, walking the runway while wearing her court-ordered ankle monitor.
Velez’s show, titled “Smite,” was hardly a conventional fashion presentation. The collection explored themes of conflict and violence, featuring combat-inspired clothing, chains, rope details and other intentionally provocative styling. Santos’ presence in the audience became one of the more talked-about celebrity cameos from the show.
The Santos-Delvey connection isn’t exactly brand new.
The pair have appeared together publicly before, including at Santos’ 2025 holiday party, where Delvey was among the guests. Delvey has also posted photos and videos with Santos on social media, according to previous reporting.
For NYFW, however, their proximity is particularly notable because both have become unlikely fixtures of the fashion-and-celebrity circuit despite their very different legal histories.
Santos was expelled from the U.S. House of Representatives in December 2023 after an ethics investigation and later pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges. Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was convicted of multiple theft-related offenses after posing as a wealthy German heiress.
Yet here they were, surrounded by models, designers and photographers.
Because New York Fashion Week has never exactly been known for predictable casting.
And apparently, the front row just got a whole lot stranger.
