Schiaparelli has a new home inside Bergdorf Goodman, and naturally, the Parisian fashion house wasn’t about to make it look like just another luxury department-store counter.

The newly unveiled Schiaparelli Salon at Bergdorf Goodman occupies the fourth floor of the iconic Fifth Avenue retailer at 754 Fifth Avenue, bringing the surrealist spirit of the house’s Paris headquarters at 21 Place Vendôme to New York.

The salon was designed by Swedish architecture duo Halleroed in collaboration with Schiaparelli Creative Director Daniel Roseberry. The result is an intimate, residential-style space that feels more like a wildly fashionable Paris apartment than a traditional boutique.

At the center is a mirrored Boudoir, complete with a sculptural fireplace, while hand-cut gold mosaics, Jurassic marble, beveled mirrors and lacquered wood create the sort of surroundings where even window-shopping feels extremely expensive.

Then look up.

The salon features a domed ceiling decorated with gold-leaf drawings by Roseberry, adding another layer of Schiaparelli’s signature mix of art, fashion and surrealism.

And, of course, the clothes deserve their own spotlight.

Visitors can discover Schiaparelli’s couture-inspired ready-to-wear, jewelry and accessories, including some of the house’s instantly recognizable surrealist creations and sculptural bags such as the Secret, Face and Keyhole.

The new salon continues a relationship between Schiaparelli and Bergdorf Goodman that began with the brand’s American retail debut at the store in 2021. The redesigned space takes that partnership considerably further, creating a dedicated environment for the house’s increasingly theatrical New York presence.

For fashion lovers searching for Schiaparelli NYC, new luxury stores in NYC, Bergdorf Goodman shopping or designer boutiques in New York, this is one Fifth Avenue stop worth making.

Because sometimes shopping isn’t about buying anything.

Sometimes it’s about walking into a golden surrealist dream and pretending your credit card can’t see you.
