Another Westchester dining destination has taken its final bow. Chazz Palminteri Italian Restaurant on Main Street in White Plains has officially closed, bringing an end to the celebrity-backed Italian restaurant’s run in the heart of downtown. And in a plot twist worthy of one of Palminteri’s crime dramas, the restaurant’s original Midtown Manhattan location has closed as well.
The White Plains restaurant shuttered on September 30, 2026, ending a run that began in May 2021. For diners who made the restaurant a destination for oversized portions, old-school Italian hospitality, and a little Hollywood glamour, the news marks the end of an era.
No More Chicken Parm on a Pizza Tray
The restaurant built a following around generous Italian-American classics, including its famously enormous Chicken Parmigiana, served on a pizza tray and designed for sharing. Grilled octopus, lobster ravioli, and a Sunday three-course pasta dinner were also among the menu’s draws.
In other words, this was not the place to order a light dinner and leave hungry. The portions had ambition, the pasta had a starring role, and the menu leaned into the kind of comfort food that makes skipping lunch seem like a perfectly reasonable strategy.
What Happened to Chazz Palminteri’s Restaurants?
Palminteri, the Oscar-nominated actor best known for A Bronx Tale, launched his namesake New York City restaurant in 2015 before expanding to White Plains. The two locations ultimately ceased operations on the same date, reportedly marking the end of the licensing partnerships associated with the actor’s brand.
No detailed explanation for the closures was provided in the reporting reviewed.
What’s Next for Main Street?
For White Plains, the closure leaves another question hanging over the downtown dining scene: what will take over the space? A new concept could eventually bring fresh life to the address, but for now, fans of Chazz Palminteri Italian Restaurant will have to find their Chicken Parm fix elsewhere.
One thing is certain: Main Street has lost a familiar name, and this time, there’s no encore scheduled.
