The fries are hot, the properties are back, and somewhere in America, someone is already convinced they’re one green sticker away from becoming a millionaire.
McDonald’s Monopoly is officially back for 2026, launching October 6 with a familiar peel-and-play format, a giant prize pool and a headline-grabbing $1 million cash prize. This year, however, McDonald’s has made the game considerably more digital.
The basic idea remains deliciously simple: buy participating McDonald’s menu items, grab the game pieces and peel them to reveal prizes, property pieces or Chance Card plays. Eligible items include favorites such as Quarter Pounders with Cheese, Egg McMuffins, large fries and select large drinks.
But here’s the important update: all gameplay happens through the McDonald’s app. After peeling a physical game piece, players scan it in the app to see what they’ve won or collect digital properties. There’s also a bonus Chance Card play available for qualifying purchases made through the app or with a Rewards code, provided players register before ordering.
And the prizes go considerably beyond free fries.
The 2026 McDonald’s Monopoly prizes include free food, MyMcDonald’s Rewards points, trips, vehicles, shopping sprees, cash prizes and the coveted $1 million cash prize. The million-dollar prize is awarded as $50,000 per year for 20 years—not a giant suitcase of cash delivered by Ronald McDonald.
The game runs for a limited time, with game pieces available through November 1. The Chance Card Game continues through November 8, while prize claims extend later into November. And yes, no purchase is necessary to participate, so you don’t actually have to order 47 large fries to chase Park Place.
So download the app, register, start peeling and prepare for the annual ritual of staring at your Monopoly pieces like they contain your retirement plan.
Because this year, passing Go could actually pay.
