Forget Broadway prices. Molière in the Park is bringing 22 free performances to Brooklyn, proving once again that some of the best theater in New York City can cost exactly zero dollars.
The company’s 2026 season is headlined by “Don Juan,” Molière’s famously scandalous comedy about seduction, hypocrisy, morality and a man who apparently never met a bad decision he didn’t like. The production runs September 5 through September 27 at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park.
And yes, the big selling point is right there in the fine print: performances are free, with the exception of the opening-night benefit. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
The production is directed by Molière in the Park founding artistic director Lucie Tiberghien, translated by Stephen Wadsworth and stars Keshav Moodliar as the infamous Don Juan. The show also features live original cello music by Johnathan Moore, adding a contemporary soundtrack to a play that is roughly 360 years old but somehow still manages to feel very New York.
Performances include evening shows, Sunday matinees and student performances, giving Brooklyn theater fans plenty of opportunities to catch the production.
