Some New York City restaurant reopenings feel like news. Others feel like a commuter finally finding an empty seat on the LIRR.
Tracks Raw Bar & Grill is officially back inside Penn Station, reopening in its longtime home after nearly seven years away. The beloved raw bar and restaurant returned to the Long Island Rail Road concourse in 2026, bringing oysters, Guinness and its classic commuter-bar energy back underground.
Tracks first opened at Penn Station in 2003 and became a favorite stop for LIRR riders looking for a drink, a meal or a way to make a train delay feel slightly less annoying. The original location closed in 2019 as part of Penn Station renovations, forcing Tracks to move to a street-level location on West 31st Street.
Now, after a roughly $3.6 million renovation, Tracks has returned in a new 3,150-square-foot space near the LIRR concourse. The redesigned restaurant keeps the spirit of the original while adding updated touches, including a private party room and an expanded menu.
And yes, the raw bar is still a major attraction.
Expect oysters and other seafood alongside classic bar favorites, drinks and some new additions. The restaurant is also known for its clam chowder, making this one Penn Station destination where “I have 45 minutes before my train” can quickly become “Maybe I’ll take the next one.”
The return also comes after Tracks expanded to Grand Central Madison in 2025, giving commuters on both sides of Manhattan a place to grab seafood and a drink before heading home.
