Good news for New York deli devotees: Sarge’s Delicatessen is giving customers more time to get their pastrami fix. The legendary Manhattan deli has extended its operating hours at its 548 Third Avenue location, meaning fewer excuses for missing out on a towering sandwich, a proper breakfast or a late-night deli run.
And in a city that never seems to agree on when dinner should happen, Sarge’s is making a compelling argument for keeping the kitchen going longer.
More Late-Night Pastrami, Please
Under the new schedule, Sarge’s is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday, the deli opens earlier at 8 a.m. and also stays open until 11 p.m.
That means an extra hour of evening service during the week and two additional hours of weekend breakfast availability.
The deli is specifically calling out its pastrami on rye for the later crowd. Whether you’re coming from a show, finishing a long shift or simply experiencing one of those mysterious New York cravings that cannot be ignored, there’s now more time to get your sandwich fix.
Weekend Breakfast Just Got Better
The earlier Friday-through-Sunday opening also gives diners more time to tackle some of Sarge’s morning favorites, including challah French toast and the Nova Special.
Because sometimes a weekend breakfast should involve more than coffee grabbed on the way to somewhere else.
Same Family, Same Deli, More Hours
Located at 548 Third Avenue, Sarge’s has been serving New Yorkers since 1964. Its old-school delicatessen atmosphere and generous menu have helped make it a longtime destination for classic New York comfort food.
The restaurant’s announcement puts it simply: same counter, same family, more time to sit at it.
For anyone who believes there’s no bad time for pastrami, that’s excellent news. New York’s deli tradition just got a little more convenient — and considerably harder to resist.
