Some New York nightlife institutions don’t need to be reinvented. They just need to remember who they were.

Tramp NYC, the legendary private club that first opened in 1969, is doing exactly that with a dramatic new redesign that brings the spirit of its glamorous seventies heyday into a completely reimagined 10,000-square-foot club.

The goal? Simple: bring back the feeling of Tramp as a home away from home.

The transformation starts downstairs, where the former restaurant has been replaced by The Society, an intimate 70-seat dining room tucked beneath a beautifully restored Masonic lodge ceiling. The result sounds less like a restaurant and more like the sort of secret dining room where someone inevitably orders another bottle.

The bar has also moved into the lobby, creating a warmer, more welcoming entrance as guests descend into the club.

Then there is Jackie’s, the main cocktail lounge named after Jackie Collins, wife of original Tramp founder Oscar Lerman. Designed to evolve throughout the evening, the room can move effortlessly from conversations and member gatherings to celebrations and DJ-fueled late nights.

Upstairs, the terrace gets its own cinematic moment, featuring black-and-white projections of Charlie Chaplin films—a playful nod to the character who inspired the club’s name.

The Gold Room preserves Tramp’s iconic original painting and pays tribute to Johnny Gold, one of the club’s founding figures and a major force behind its legendary seventies, eighties and nineties era.

For members looking for something quieter, the newly introduced Snug offers a more intimate retreat.

Taken together, the spaces create something distinctly old-school while still feeling ready for modern New York nightlife.

And that’s perhaps the most exciting part of the new Tramp NYC.

It isn’t trying to recreate the past.

It’s bringing the spirit of the past back to life—and giving it somewhere new to party.
