The oil fields are humming again. After months of delays, Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Season 3 is officially back in production, giving fans of Billy Bob Thornton’s very stressed-out oilman something new to obsess over.
Cameras began rolling in North Texas on September 24, 2026, according to set updates from cast members including James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley. Jordan shared a photo from production with the caption, “Up n runnin’ and back after it!” Other cast members have also posted evidence that the machinery is officially moving again.
And Fort Worth remains a major part of the Landman production footprint. Previous seasons have filmed around downtown Fort Worth, the Stockyards and AllianceTexas, while recent casting calls sought extras for shoots in Fort Worth and nearby Haslet.
The delay has made Season 3 particularly anticipated. James Jordan previously indicated production would shift into September and continue into early 2027, while Taylor Sheridan continued writing the new episodes. The season is expected to contain 10 episodes.
There is also a new face entering the oil business.
Michael Kelly, known for Lioness and The Penguin, has joined Season 3 as series regular William Crockett, described by Paramount as the leader of the world’s largest oil management firm. Translation: Tommy Norris may have just found someone with an even bigger office—and potentially even bigger problems.
As for when viewers can actually watch it? Paramount+ has not announced an official Season 3 premiere date. So while cameras are rolling, any specific release date circulating online should be treated as speculation rather than gospel.
After Season 2 ended with Tommy striking out on his own and the Norris family facing a dramatically different future, Season 3 has plenty of unfinished business waiting in West Texas.
The rigs are running.
The cast is back.
And apparently, Taylor Sheridan still has a few more barrels of trouble to pump.
